CFE of the Year: Vincent Walden, CFE

The Certified Fraud Examiner of the Year Award is presented to a CFE who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in the field of fraud examination.

With more than 25 years of investigative and legal technology experience, Vincent Walden has made significant contributions to the field of anti-fraud training and the discipline of fraud examination.

 He has extensive experience deploying anti-fraud, compliance, anti-bribery and corruption, and anti-trust technological solutions. He also is an industry thought leader in using artificial intelligence and proprietary anti-fraud behavioral algorithms.

Vince is an adjunct professor at Fordham University’s Law School teaching compliance innovation and is the CEO of Kona AI, an anti-corruption, risk and compliance AI platform. He is also a regular columnist for the ACFE’s Fraud Magazine. And as part of COSO’s Fraud Risk Management Task Force, he co-authored the ACFE/COSO Fraud Risk Management Guide, which was released in September 2016 and is currently being updated for 2022. In addition, Vince hosts a biweekly podcast show, “The Walden Pond,” which focuses on compliance innovation.

He served as Chair of the ACFE Foundation in 2021 and is currently a member of the ACFE Foundation Research Committee.
